The Acura True Touchpad Interface wasn’t a favorite among fans since it debuted on the RDX and spread to other 2024 models. Pairing a dash-top screen with a unique touchpad at the center of the console made the design feel contrarian and difficult to work with.

The package may have minor changes from the previous generation, but the 2025 Acura MDX packs many features that make it a delight to drive. It quickly downshifts during hard braking into corners and shifts up 30% faster in Sport+ mode, achieved through a momentary fuel cut during gear changes.

The active exhaust also amplifies earlier in Sport+ (with the second flap opening at 3,250 rpm compared to 4,750 in other modes), although it's less obvious than the Active Sound Control, which artificially enhances the engine, intake, and exhaust sounds inside the cabin for an experience to delight all the senses. While it adds a cool factor, it leans more towards mimicking a V8 than the typically smooth sound of a Honda-made V6.

The 2025 MDX also comes with an updated display with a built-in Google system that’s laid out to calm previous criticisms and the AcuraWatch driver assistance upgrade for improved adaptive cruise control performance. For entertainment upgrades, the 2025 Acura MDX features a thunderous Bang & Olufsen sound system to upgrade the Panasonic/ELS systems that have been an Acura staple for two decades. These standard 19-speaker systems are only beaten by the 31 speakers of the Type S version, with 12 speakers on the ceiling, two amplifiers, and an 8.8-inch subwoofer to name a few. These, and many other additional interior features including a removable second-row middle seat make the MDX a highly anticipated family-friendly luxury SUV.
